Where is my soul? Don't forget to ask it before you continue.
What is
an automatic movement?
My husband is a
story teller in his profession and he always says that when it’s difficult to explain something,
just tell a story. So here is one.
An old master and
his disciple were on their way talking when the disciple asked the master if he
can explain to him what is the mind? What are thoughts?
The master answered:
“all in good time”.
When they took a
break under a huge tree the master asked the disciple to bring him some water
from the well. The disciple said he would love to and went to the nearest well.
Arriving to the well he saw this beautiful woman trying to bring up water for
her herd. He helped her politely, fascinated by her beauty. In order to thank
him she invited him to her village and he was happy to go.
When they arrived to
the village she introduced him to her father, the head of the village, a
wealthy man. The father was very grateful for his help and offered him to stay.
So he stayed for a few days falling in love and ending up marrying this
beautiful woman.
After a while she
got pregnant with his first son and then more children came along. When his
father in law died he became the head of the village. He was a good and wise
man and brought prosperity to his village.
One day during the
monsoon season a big flood started to sweep away the village. He saw the water
rising covering the houses, the herds drowning, people screaming, his children
trying to hang against the flow and he felt that he too was being swept by the
water while still struggling in vain to reach his youngest daughter, when suddenly he felt someone patting on his back. He turned around hearing
his master saying: “just some water”.
A practical exercise
– remember?
Every morning before
starting your day decide on a specific time that you would stop for a minute or
two and take a deep breath. It can be a specific hour, a specific point during
the day - whatever will be practical for you. Do it without any means of electronic alarm.
Check and see if you
can accomplish this small mission that you’ve decided for yourself. It’ll be
interesting to check.
I send to each of
you Light, Love and Compassion
Esty
